At Hitherwood Consulting, we run a limited number of heavily subsidised business support programmes for construction firms operating in our local area (west Kent, east Surrey and south London). These programmes are called Supporting South East Businesses, and there are 3 spaces that are now up for grabs!

Eligible companies are those based in our local area, that work on moderate sized projects in the construction industry as contractors or consultants, with between 10 and 200 staff. Beyond this, selection is made by Hitherwood Consulting based on the business issue put forward.

What sort of business support can the SSEB programme provide? Supporting South East Businesses provides independent consultancy from Hitherwood that eligible companies joining the programme can use to help tackle an issue within their business, such as:

  • A need to review your company’s medium term goals and the strategy to achieve them
  • A desire to broaden your customer base and the markets you operate in
  • Wanting to establish or strengthen partnering arrangements with key suppliers
  • Addressing high staff turnover, or low staff satisfaction
  • Needing to improve business productivity to increase profitability.

How much help will you get? Each company that is accepted into the Supporting South East Businesses programme will receive three days of consultancy from Hitherwood Consultancy’s Director, David Churcher, worth £1,500 at our standard day rate.

How much does it cost? Each company taking part in the programme is charged a nominal fee of £100+VAT, and is also asked to cover the travel and subsistence expenses incurred in providing the consultancy. However, if after completing the programme you can honestly say that it has been of no benefit to you then the £100 fee will be returned.

Is there any small print? A little. The terms and conditions are printed on the back of the Application Form. Submission of the form confirms you have read and accepted these terms. Overall, the risk to you is tiny as you can still pull out part way through your programme and the potential to learn something that will really improve the future of your business is significant.

This is too good to pass up – how do I apply? Sorry - the Autumn 2007 Programme is now closed. Please email david.churcher@hitherwood.co.uk to be alerted when the next programme is launched.
